‘Animals’ set for 2013’s summer theme.
Amsterdam, June 24, 2013 – One of the most hyped and discussed teasers of May 2013 was the teaser for ‘Animals’. No artist name was mentioned and from that moment on fans and bloggers alike went head to head in heated discussions on who the artist could possibly be. It turned out to be seventeen year-old Dutch prodigy Martin Garrix, which was officially announced by Billboard.
After climbing the charts for one week, ‘Animals’ just reached the highly acclaimed number 1 spot at Beatport’s main chart.
Martin Garrix’ name has been buzzing in the international dance scene for a while now.
Since he signed with the worlds biggest dance label Spinnin’ Records and ‘Ace Agency’, who also represent stars like Afrojack, Quintino and Rehab, Martin’s star is rising. Online EDM magazine Dancing Astronaut named Martin as one of the five break-through artists of summer 2013 last week:
“If you’re a fan of electronic music, 365 days remain on your countdown to attending your first 18+ event. Not if you’re Martin Garrix. By the age of 16, Martin had already released productions for Tiesto (“Torrent“) and Sander van Doorn (“Error 404“), and his memories of Florida consist playing of Miami Music Week parties with veterans nearly twice his age, not hanging out at his grandparent’s condominium in Boca Raton. On his 17th birthday, Martin Garrix was in the midst of becoming one of EDM’s next big thing. Surpassing fellow underaged talent, the Dutch teen has a handful of Spinnin Records releases, but has most recently fired a warning shot that he will be taking over festivals, clubs, and dance parties worldwide. That warning has come in the form of his preview for “Animals,” his forthcoming self-made production that has caused an earthquake of commotion ahead of its release and has even been mistaken as work from Hardwell. When “Animals” is finally released, the summer will belong to Garrix, and one of the year’s biggest tracks will belong to a 17 year old — and, by the looks of things, his future Dillon Francis collaboration will be just as big.”
Martin Garix about his first #1 hit: “I’m so happy…. I still can’t believe this is happening!”
‘Animals’ is already receiving massive support on this monster hit from the biggest DJ’s on the planet, like David Guetta, Afrojack, Sander van Doorn, Chuckie, Tommy Trash and Danny Howard. Steve Aoki stamped the track as ‘HUGE!’ and Fedde Le Grand recently played ‘Animals’ in his radio show. It was also one of the most played tunes at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas.
All these major achievements in such little time make Martin Garrix well on his way to become hot EDM property, so better keep your eyes and ears peeled!
